Botox

Botox has dramatically changed our abilities to treat the fine lines and wrinkles of the upper and middle third of the face. Botox is most commonly used to treat horizontal lines of the forehead, crow’s feet (fine lines adjacent to the eye) and the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.

Botox is simply a protein derived from clostridium botulinum. When injected in small doses, it prevents contracture of the small facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the upper region of the face.

Botox injections are performed in our office by using simple methods to reduce discomfort, and the procedure takes only minutes. You may even choose to have botox performed with “laughing gas” in our office. You can return to work or activities directly following the procedure. The effects will be noticeable in just a few days, and will typically last three to four months.

Other uses for Botox include:

  • Migraine treatments
  • Blepharospasms (eyelid spasm)
  • Facial Spasm Treatments
  • Hyperhidrosis Treatments (excessive sweating of the hands, face, underarms)
